Newborn Information

The following information is to help you care for your baby and to relieve some of your concerns and anxieties about many minor things which arise during your baby's early infancy. The guidelines given below are based on present knowledge and experience and there are other ways of doing things also. Each baby is so individual in nature and temperament that each parent will find out about his or her baby by experience only.

Caring for a newborn creates a lot of work for the mother. Though the work is pleasant and enjoyable, it can also be tiring. Do try to accept all the help available from relatives and friends without feeling any sense of inadequacy. Mothers do need to get sleep and rest whenever possible when the baby is sleeping. Also, consider getting a whole night's sleep occasionally in order to regain physical and mental strength.
